A midnight adventure turned into a terrifying seven-hour standoff with gravity for a 15-year-old boy in Jerusalem. The teenager was rescued Monday morning after spending the night trapped on a crane hook, dangling precariously 36 stories above the city streets.
According to Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service, the boy began his climb around midnight, aiming to "see the view." However, he became stranded on a small platform connecting the crane's metal cables, leaving him suspended over a high-rise construction site.
The ordeal ended only after a sharp-eyed bystander spotted the teen in the morning light and alerted authorities. Fire teams undertook a complex rescue, scaling the side of the crane to reach the boy and pull him to safety.
Fire official Eyal Cohen described the rescue as a "miracle" and noted a concerning trend of youths attempting to scale tall buildings in the city.
