Cop Dislocates Shoulder Arresting Home Invader in Narrabeen Lake

A chaotic Sunday crime spree that began with a terrifying home invasion in Western Sydney and spanned across the city has ended with a dramatic arrest in Narrabeen Lake. A 32-year-old man is behind bars today, facing a litany of charges after allegedly leading police on multiple dangerous pursuits and assaulting two officers, leaving one with a dislocated shoulder.

The rampage reportedly began at approximately 9:30 a.m. yesterday, Sunday, November 30, 2025, at a residence on Magowar Road in Girraween. Officers from the Cumberland Police Area Command were called to the scene following reports of a home invasion.

Police allege that the man kicked open the front door of the property while three terrified occupants were still inside. Once inside, the intruder allegedly snatched a set of car keys before retreating to the driveway and stealing a white Toyota Corolla. Investigators confirmed that the man and the residents were strangers to one another, and fortunately, there was no physical interaction between the parties during the break-in.

The stolen vehicle was spotted shortly before 11:00 a.m. by officers from the Northern Beaches Police Area Command as it traveled along the Warringah Freeway in Northbridge. Police attempted to stop the Corolla, but the driver allegedly refused to pull over.

A pursuit was initiated but had to be quickly terminated due to significant safety concerns for other motorists. A short time later, police attempted to engage the vehicle in a second pursuit, but it was again called off as the driving became too dangerous.

The manhunt came to a head around 12:10 p.m. on Pittwater Road in Narrabeen. Police sighted the stolen Corolla as it mounted a gutter and finally ground to a halt. In a desperate bid to escape, the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and ran into the waters of Narrabeen Lake.

Officers pursued the man into the water. During the ensuing struggle to place him under arrest, a male Senior Constable suffered a serious injury, dislocating his shoulder.

The 32-year-old man, of no fixed address, was transported to Manly Police Station, but the violence allegedly did not end at the lake. Police state that while in custody, the man provided false details to officers and refused to undergo breath analysis or drug testing.

The situation escalated further when the man allegedly punched a male constable in the face, causing minor injuries.

The man has been charged with ten serious offenses. These include aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offense with people present, taking and driving a conveyance without the owner's consent, and giving a false name. He is also facing two counts of police pursuit (not stop/drive recklessly), two counts of refusing or failing to submit to breath analysis, and charges for assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty causing actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail and appeared before Manly Local Court today, Monday, December 1, 2025.
