Two men have been refused bail and are facing a combined 17 charges following a significant police investigation into the manufacture and supply of illegal firearms across Sydney’s southwest. Detectives from Strike Force Lamm executed multiple search warrants over two days, allegedly seizing assault rifles, 3D-printed weapon parts, and industrial manufacturing equipment.
Firearms and 3D Printed Parts Seized
The operation began at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, when detectives from the Campbelltown City Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a unit in Bardwell Park. During the search, officers allegedly seized an unregistered Smith & Wesson .38 calibre revolver along with 169 rounds of ammunition. A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kogarah Police Station.
Following this arrest, police executed a second warrant at a storage facility on Commercial Road in Kingsgrove. Investigators allegedly located a significant cache of weaponry, including an AR-15 assault rifle, an SKS semi-automatic rifle, a pistol, and approximately 30 high-capacity 3D-printed pistol magazines. Numerous 3D-printed slides and pistol frames were also seized.
A subsequent check of the 39-year-old man's registered safe storage location at Power Street, St Marys, revealed that no items were stored there.
Alleged Manufacturing Facility Uncovered
The investigation continued into the early hours of Wednesday morning. At about 12:10 a.m., police raided a property on Forest Road in Arncliffe, where they allegedly discovered a firearms manufacturing operation. Items located at the scene included an industrial-sized CNC Mill, a 3D printer, and a large quantity of magazines, slides, barrels, and ammunition. A crime scene was established and examined by specialist police.
Vehicle Stop Leads to Further Seizures
In a related tactical operation on Tuesday evening, officers stopped a white Toyota Hiace van on Somerset Avenue in Narellan at approximately 6:15 p.m. The stop was conducted with assistance from Polair, the Dog Unit, and Highway Patrol.
A search of the van allegedly uncovered a green duffle bag containing two Privately Made Firearms (PMFs) fitted with slides, barrels, and a steel receiver. Police also located a grey box containing what appeared to be a folding semi-automatic style rifle with missing pieces, as well as magazines, ammunition, six silencers, and silencer parts. A bumbag containing a revolver and $4,300 in cash was also allegedly found in the vehicle.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.
